The amendment file: documents, channels, and the reissued deed

Every correction is an amendment to the Real Property Register, filed through the DLD’s channels or an authorised Real Estate Registration Trustee Centre, evidenced by the documents that prove what the record should say, and concluded by the electronic reissue of the deed from the amended record.

The documents, by case

Every file: the current deed details, the owner’s passport (and Emirates ID for residents), and the completed amendment application.

Name corrections: the passport showing the correct rendering; for changed names, the connecting document marriage certificate, naturalisation decree, formal change-of-name instrument attested for UAE use where issued abroad.

Identity reference updates: the new passport, and the Emirates ID where applicable.

Property-data corrections: the deed versus the authoritative DLD record or approved plan, stated precisely; supporting developer or survey documentation where the case needs it.

Represented owners: a notarised power of attorney expressly covering property dealings or DLD transactions, plus the representative’s own identity document. A general power that does not name the authority risks refusal.

Company-owned property: the trade licence, the constitutional document, and proof the applicant is an authorised signatory.

Payment and reissue

Fees follow the DLD’s fixed official schedule the title deed certificate fee and the small knowledge and innovation charges, plus the trustee centre’s service charge payable by the standard DLD methods. Once processed, the corrected deed is issued in electronic form from the amended register entry; physical paper deeds are generally not produced. The new electronic deed replaces the previous version in the Property Register.

Sequencing with other register events

Corrections combine cleanly with other record work when they are sequenced deliberately: a name correction alongside a passport update is one file; a correction discovered during a replacement of a lost deed is handled alongside it; a correction needed before a sale must complete before the transfer registers. What never combines is a correction and a change of owner those are different register events with different procedures.
